When to Tweet About #LDSconf

When is it appropriate to use the #ldsconf hashtag? The simple answer is that there is never a time that you shouldn't tweet about #ldsconf. A less general answer is that you should tweet before and after conference, and during conference if you'd like. Here are some of my ideas about why you should tweet about conference all the time.

Before Conference
If you're planning on tweeting a lot during general conference, consider letting your followers know that you will be doing so throughout the week leading up to conference weekend. This way, they won't be caught off guard when you start flooding their feed with tweets about conference.
Using the #ldsconf hashtag before conference is also a good way to find and connect with other people who will be using the hashtag.
During Conference
Everyone says that tweeting during conference is a powerful missionary tool. Why is that? Well when you tweet using the #ldsconf hashtag and thousands of other people do the same, the hashtag will begin to trend. Twitter trends allow you to see what people are tweeting about in a city, in a country, or on a global scale. This means that even people who are not tweeting about #ldsconf might see tweets about it. Trends don't have to be hashtags, they can be groups of words.

Last general conference the phrase "Elder Holland" was trending before he even started speaking.

After Conference
I use the hashtag #ldsconf to tweet about the general conference talks I read all throughout the year., whether they were from the most recent conference or not. Anytime I read an old conference talk and have insights to share about it I will use the #ldsconf hashtag.  I also frequently include the link to the talk or who said the quote so that others can figure out what I'm referring to.

What are other reasons you use the #ldsconf hashtag before, during, or after conference? Use the gift of thumbs and leave a comment!
